Some children require a CPAP or a BiPap as described in the other sections.
After the inital steps of mask selection, mask fitting, a period of acclamitization the child usually would be taken up for a sleep study on the CPAP or BiPap. This type of sleep study is called as Non Invasive Ventialtion Titration study.
What are the aims of performing a NIV Titration study?
- It helps us to optimize the settings of your child’s ventilator.
- The mask fitting would be optimized for size, shape, comfort and leaks.
- Ventilator variables need to be adjusted like IPAP, EPAP, Respiratory Rate, Trigger, Cycling, Ti etc. These setting are adjusted live while we observe the various parameters on the sleep study.
